Chorus FX

Beyond Chorus — Multi-model analog & digital chorus inspired by the legends

Chorus FX is a multi-model chorus and modulation plugin inspired by five legendary chorus and modulation circuits that defined the sound of decades of music production. But Chorus FX goes far beyond faithful recreation — it is designed around the concept of "Beyond Chorus," delivering parameters, routing options, and creative possibilities that the original hardware units never offered. Each of the five models captures the essential character of its inspiration while extending it with modern controls including independent Feedback with ratio-based routing, variable Delay time, stereo Width control, All-pass voicing mode (White Chorus), and oversampling with anti-aliasing. Mode-specific defaults load automatically when switching models, giving you an instant starting point that captures the soul of each classic circuit. From lush analog warmth to pristine digital shimmer, from subtle thickening to extreme modulation textures — Chorus FX puts five decades of chorus evolution and beyond into a single, intuitive interface.

Features

01

Five Legendary Chorus Models

Five distinct chorus and modulation algorithms inspired by the most iconic chorus circuits in audio history — from vintage analog bucket-brigade designs to pristine digital architectures. Each model faithfully captures the essential tonal character of its inspiration while adding modern enhancements that go far beyond the originals.

02

Beyond Chorus — Creative Parameters

Unlike the classic units that inspired it, Chorus FX provides Feedback with ratio-based routing, variable Delay time, and independent stereo Width control on every model. These parameters unlock modulation textures and spatial effects that were simply impossible on the original hardware — from metallic flanging-chorus hybrids to wide immersive soundscapes.

03

White Chorus — All-Pass Voicing

Engage White Chorus mode to switch the internal voicing to an all-pass filter topology. This produces a distinctly different modulation character — smoother, more phase-oriented, and with a unique spectral quality that complements the standard chorus voicing. A creative tool that no classic chorus ever offered.

04

Mode-Specific Defaults

Each of the five models loads with carefully tuned default parameter values that instantly capture the signature sound of its inspiration. Switch models and start working immediately — no need to dial in settings from scratch. Fine-tune from there to shape your own sound.

05

Oversampling & Anti-Aliasing

Built-in oversampling with anti-aliasing ensures pristine audio quality at any sample rate. Eliminate aliasing artifacts from deep modulation and high feedback settings while maintaining the full harmonic character of each model. Toggle on or off depending on your CPU budget.

06

Full Mix & Output Control

A dedicated Mix knob provides seamless dry/wet blending for parallel chorus processing, while the Output gain control with lock option ensures consistent levels across models and settings. Precision metering and the A/B comparison system (COPY) let you audition and compare settings in real time.

Frequently Asked Questions

What five chorus models are included?+
Chorus FX includes five models inspired by legendary chorus and modulation circuits spanning analog bucket-brigade designs through to digital architectures. Each model captures the essential character of its inspiration — from warm, dark vintage chorus tones to bright, pristine digital modulation — while extending them with parameters the originals never had.
What does "Beyond Chorus" mean?+
Beyond Chorus refers to the creative parameters and capabilities that Chorus FX provides on top of faithful classic emulation. Features like ratio-based Feedback routing, variable Delay time, independent stereo Width, White Chorus all-pass voicing, and oversampling go far beyond what any of the original hardware units offered — opening up entirely new modulation textures and spatial effects.
What is White Chorus / All-pass voicing?+
White Chorus switches the internal signal path to an all-pass filter voicing instead of the standard delay-line chorus topology. This produces a modulation effect that is more phase-based and spectrally neutral, with a smoother and more ethereal quality. It is a unique creative option not found in classic chorus hardware.
What does the Feedback ratio parameter do?+
The Feedback control feeds a portion of the output signal back into the modulation delay line, creating resonant and more intense modulation effects. The ratio parameter controls the routing balance of the feedback path, allowing you to shape whether the feedback emphasizes the chorus character or pushes into flanging and metallic territory.
Do mode-specific defaults reset my settings?+
Mode-specific defaults only load automatically when you first switch to a new model. Once you begin adjusting parameters, your settings are preserved. You can always recall the default for any model using the preset system. The A/B comparison (COPY) feature lets you compare your tweaked settings against the defaults instantly.
Should I use oversampling?+
Oversampling eliminates aliasing artifacts that can occur with deep modulation depths and high feedback settings, especially at lower sample rates. It is recommended for final mixing and mastering. For tracking and sound design where CPU efficiency is a priority, you can safely leave oversampling off and enable it later for the final render.
